A Place to Lie Down
Land, shepherding, and the gift of rest
The language of rest in Scripture is often grounded in place: green pastures, still waters, quiet fields. Rest is not abstract—it is embodied, located, and deeply connected to land.
To lie down requires trust. Sheep do not rest where they feel threatened. They rest where provision and protection are assured.
Shepherd’s Rest holds this image close. This land, and the work that happens here, exists to echo that invitation—to slow, to dwell, and to remember that rest is not earned. It is given. Sometimes the most faithful response is simply to lie down and receive it.
